Often, it appears runway stylists may know best. Sure, they’re going for drama and the wow factor on the catwalk, but that’s what we need sometimes. Copying a look from head to toe isn’t necessarily recommended (there’s got to be some individuality in there somewhere), but navigating which elements from the look to keep and which to ditch can be more difficult than it seems. Here’s how some of the in crowd fared in recent days.
Diane Kruger in Nina Ricci Fall 2013
Diane Kruger (unfortunately) exemplified why wearing red can sometimes be a bad idea on the red carpet – even if it’s only a pair of shoes. She stepped out in a dramatic black Nina Ricci number from the Fall 2013 collection and styled with a pair of red pumps similar to what was shown on the runway, but her shoes completely disappear in photos.
“She shouldn't have worn shoes that color, it looks like she hasn't got feet!” LuellaLuella cried out.
Diane also stuck with the red lip, which in this case was a smart move. She softened the look with tumbling curls, but she may have done better to take a cue from the dramatic, pulled back hair from the runway presentation.
Label Basher pretty much thought the look was just inherently a failure. “That is one bad dress and even Diane can't save it,” she commented.
