Balenciaga Is Being Sued by…an Air Freshener Company?

No, it’s not April Fool’s Day in October…Balenciaga is being sued by Little Trees, maker of the iconic tree-shaped car fresheners. The lawsuit claims that Balenciaga produced an accessory that is an imitation of the Little Tree design, trademarked back in 1952.

The news may not come as a complete surprise, especially since Balenciaga has been known to take “inspiration” from everyday items. Earlier this year, the brand was been slammed with a lawsuit by a New York Souvenir company for stealing the designs from an iconic souvenir tote bag. The “Multicoloured New York Bazar Shopper” tote bag was being sold by Balenciaga for $1,950, while the regular souvenir tote bag costs around $20. Little Trees is facing a similar issue with its $3 air freshener inspiring a $275 Balenciaga keyring.

Little Trees is pursuing the lawsuit since they believe it may cause confusion with consumers as to who owns the design. So far, Balenciaga has not given any public comments on the lawsuit.

Victoria’s Secret Loves Mary Katrantzou Is This Year’s Most Coveted Lingerie Collaboration

The year is almost ending, which means the hottest fashion show will soon be staged. We’re talking about the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, of course. Following last year’s first-ever designer collaboration with Balmain’s creative director Olivier Rousteing, the lingerie brand has announced a new partner for this year’s runway collection: designer Mary Katrantzou.

Katrantzou has been worn by numerous celebrities and A-listers, such as Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Dianna Agron, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kerry Washington. The designer is known for her whimsical prints and patterns, and has even been dubbed “Mary, Queen of Prints.”

As recently revealed via Victoria’s Secret Instagram post and stories, the collection will incorporate Katrantzou’s signature kaleidoscope-like prints on different types of garments. The post featured Josephine Skriver in a stunning yellow tropical inspired lingerie set. The Instagram stories gave a glimpse of Jasmine Tookes in floral workout gear, Yasmin Wijnaldum in a sexy pink tropical bodysuit and Alexina Graham being playful in her blue tropical jumpsuit.

“Everything that Victoria’s Secret creates is about a woman feeling confident and empowered — and also having fun with what she is wearing,” Katrantzou said in a press statement. “This collaboration is going to be bold, fun and playful.”

The full collection will be featured on the runway and will be available in stores and online once the show ends. While you await this year’s show, check out last year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show below.

Natasha Poly Stars on Vogue Paris’ Retro November Cover

Following Kaia Gerber‘s third appearance on Vogue Paris last month, another Emmanuelle Alt favorite, Natasha Poly, scores her 11th cover for the magazine. The Russian beauty appears on the November 2018 issue, three years after her last cover, with a fresh new platinum blonde ‘do and blunt bangs. Photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin and styled by Alt herself, Poly was captured on a chilly day at the beach on location in Southampton, New York wearing a bright yellow Michael Kors knit.

According to our forum members, the cover was a return to form for French Vogue. “Finally! My arms are always wide opened to welcome a Vogue Paris cover with Natasha. So, welcome back! I like the colors, the yellow sweater and the blue masthead,” admired Valentine27.

Vogue Paris x Natasha Poly. Normalcy. Finally. I like this. It’s a different Vogue Paris. I love how the yellow stands out instantaneously,” raved MON.

“Yay! Finally Natasha is back for Vogue Paris!! Love the simplicity of this cover! Good job!” applauded zacatecas570.

Steven Meisel Photographs Gigi Hadid and Salomon Diaz for Versace’s New Fragrance Campaign

Our forums have been pretty much #TeamDonatella since she decided to ditch Bruce Weber and bring aboard Steven Meisel to shoot Versace’s advertising campaigns. The legendary lensman (and firm forum favorite) delivered supermodel splendor for Spring 2018 but fell slightly out of favor for Fall 2018’s “unimaginative” campaign featuring 54 models. Meisel’s latest is for the brand’s new Eros Flame fragrance, starring Gigi Hadid and Salomon Diaz (who replace Lara Stone and Brian Shimansky).

The campaign images generated mixed feedback from our forum members. “Wow, this is awful! Everything looks so cheap, over-rehearsed and tacky. What’s up with Meisel’s work for Versace? It’s embarrassing to think his H&M x Moschino campaign was not only better, but more Versace than Versace!” slammed Benn98.

“I would have never guessed this was shot by Meisel. Looks so basic and cheap, I can’t even,” guimon added.

“Looks cheap. Perhaps it’s the white background,” said Scotty.

Lupita Nyong’o Is the Victim of Bad Styling on Vogue Spain’s November Cover

Whether she’s covering Porter, Allure or American Vogue, Lupita Nyong’o photographs like a dream and delivers each and every time. This month, Lupita scores her first international Vogue cover, for the November 2018 issue of Vogue Spain. Shot by photographic duo Luigi & Iango, the current face of Calvin Klein’s ‘Women’ fragrance dons the all-American label (naturally) in the portrait cover image, with Juan Cebrian in charge of styling.

Yet our forum members weren’t so keen on the outcome. “Juan Cebrian is one bad stylist. Never really liked his work. Never able to catch his inspirations/references, definitely not a storyteller, not someone who knows truly about clothes and body. If for him this is epic, it just says a lot of how mediocre he is,” said GivenchyAddict.

“She’s always so beautiful. No need to wrap her head in silver tin foil. Great to see Vogue Spain putting a black model on its cover, and an undeniably black one at that,” remarked mepps.

“She deserved so much better. The post-production and the styling are beyond terrible,” said EstefaniaAbaddon.

Karlie Kloss Married Joshua Kushner in a Gorgeous Custom Dior Gown

10.18.2018 ❤️

A post shared by Karlie Kloss (@karliekloss) on

Congrats to model and future host of Project Runway Karlie Kloss on her marriage to longtime boyfriend Joshua Kushner yesterday! The surprise announcement came via an Instagram post (natch) that featured a candid photo of the newlyweds looking overjoyed. Kloss wore a gorgeous custom Dior gown with a deep V-neckline and sheer lace sleeves.

The pair married in a Jewish ceremony that took place in upstate New York and was only attended by 80 of their closest family and friends. There’s no word yet on whether Kushner’s brother Jared and wife Ivanka Trump attended the affair.

The last news we had on Kloss’ wedding plans was back in July when she posted about Kushner proposing to her in upstate New York. Kloss has kept silent about any of the details since then.

“They’re both overjoyed and happily celebrating. Their hearts are full and they’re excited to build their future together,” a source told People when the news broke this summer.
